Invent Value

Invent Value is a collaborative innovation platform that empowers organizations to tap the mindshare of their people for gathering diverse input, generating new ideas, and evaluating possible solutions to complex challenges.

Background

Invent Value is a web application that was running for 5 years with accumulating technical debt. The project begin when the owner reached out to me to add Machine Learning capabilities to their service. After I delivered an initial prototype service that leverages image classifier, we discussed several options to integrate it to their existing service. After discovering the enormous amount of technical debt that has accumulated over many years built with technologies that no-one likes to learn and touch, we decided it’s time for the reboot.

I developed image classifier prototypes using both computer vision techniques and machine learning algorithms. I was responsible for architectural planning of the technology stack, ensuring the right components were in place for scalability and performance. I led the front-end development, working extensively with technologies like Next.js, React, the Canvas API, and WebSocket to create responsive and dynamic user interfaces. Additionally, I mentored a teammate on back-end development, reviewing pull requests and offering guidance throughout the process. I also provided technical consulting and coordinated efforts between teams in the U.S. and Thailand to ensure smooth collaboration. Lastly, I contributed to the development of a Slack app, enhancing our internal communication and workflow.
