Background
My co-founder Dustin and I met while working together to build a suite of sales and client care products for CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services company. We both saw a need for a simple product to help teams without enterprise resources find, communicate with, and care for clients. The existing tools were too complicated, expensive, and time consuming. So we started Zapiary, a communication management platform that helps small businesses more efficiently communicate and collaborate with customers.
As a Co-Founder, I took on a wide range of responsibilities, including shaping the overall strategy, leading software engineering efforts, overseeing mobile app development, and managing both branding and UI/UX design for our services. I was deeply involved in the entire development process, from concept to execution.
I designed and developed cohesive web applications, iOS apps, and an Outlook Add-in as part of a core Zapiary service. By leveraging my expertise in these areas, I ensured a seamless user experience across all platforms.
Additionally, I rapidly iterated on business opportunities, continuously testing them against market needs by using high-definition interactive design mock-ups. This allowed us to quickly gauge the viability of ideas and adjust our approach as needed.
Throughout the process, I critically analyzed customer feedback, user behavior patterns, and the legal ramifications of our service offerings. This careful attention to detail helped guide key decisions and ensured the success and compliance of our products.
